HelloTalk is an application to help language learner to learn the target language by chit chat with the native speakers. In HelloTalk, not only English that can be learned but also other language such as Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and many more. In the chit chat features, there are extra features to help the learner to learn the language such as translate, correction, speak, and transliterate.

In translation feature, you can translate what the native says in the chat. Then if you made any mistakes when chit chat with the native, they can correct your sentence through the correction feature. Speak features can be used if you want to know the pronunciation of the words. For the transliterate, you can use that if you want to know the closest corresponding letters of a different alphabet or script. You can use this feature when learning Japanese, Korean, or Chinese.

Then, how to find the native speaker or called as language partner? In the search menu, you will find lists of online users. You can see their name, country, mother tongue, and what language that they want to learn. The green line in their profile shows their mother tongue and the blue line next to it is the language they want to learn and their levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).


Besides the chat features, HelloTalk also have other features to help the English learner. The first one is Hello English. In this feature the users can learn English through podcast. Users can choose the levels of the learning. For the materials, in this feature mostly use daily conversation. Users can also read the script, learn new vocabulary, and grammar from the podcast. Second is Hello Words for learning new words through mini games. The application will also record your learning. They will have the data of how many hours you learn and how much words you’ve been learned. The third one is English Times. This feature gives you can find short reading sorted by levels and topic. You can also listen to the audio to improve your pronunciation and tap on the words to know the meaning of new words. Below are the visualization of each features:
